Suicide Prevention Statement
Paths to Wellbeing – Agnieszka Bojanowska
As a licensed freelance psychologist, I provide care to clients who may be experiencing distress or suicidal thoughts. My approach is guided by professional standards, evidence-based practice, and Dutch law.
I make it a priority to notice signs of risk, such as changes in mood, behavior, or expressions of hopelessness. When these arise, I assess the situation carefully, taking into account the client’s thoughts, plans, support network, and potential risk of harm.
If I determine that a client is at immediate risk, I contact emergency services when necessary. For situations of moderate or emerging risk, I work collaboratively with the client to develop a safety plan and, if appropriate, facilitate referral to specialized services, such as their general practitioner, 113 Suicide Prevention, or mental health care providers.
All assessments, interventions, and safety plans are documented securely and confidentially in compliance with professional standards. Records are stored in a secure digital or physical format and maintained according to legal requirements.
Even as a solo practitioner, I engage in continuous professional development, consultation, and review of best practices to ensure that my work is safe, effective, and ethically sound. My goal is to provide a space where clients can discuss suicidal thoughts openly, receive appropriate support, and access help promptly when needed.
